Safeguarding is about protecting children, young people and adults at risk from abuse or neglect. We hope this website provides you with information about a whole load of issues.

However, if you are worried or scared about the way you or someone you know is being treated don’t bottle it up, tell someone - a parent, teacher, friend or REPORT IT.

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

The Local Authority Designated Officer, sometimes called the LADO, is the person in the council who manages concerns for children where the complaint is about an adult in a position of trust, for example a professional who works with children. If this is the case you can contact the LADO on 01225 39 68 10 (Monday – Thursday between 9am and 5pm, and between 9am and 4.30pm on a Friday).
