Bath and North East Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) held its third annual Conference on 8th March 2024 at the Saltford Golf Club.
The Conference brought together local educators, professionals and practitioners working with children that may be at risk of serious violence. The focus of the day was on music, language and social media. It was an opportunity to hear from local experts, learn from other agencies and collaborate with peers.
We were also pleased to welcome keynote speaker, Professor Shawn Sobers, for an immersive talk. Shawn is a Visual Anthropologist and Professor of Cultural Interdisciplinary Practice at the University of the West of England. He talked about the importance of nurturing and protecting creative spaces and opportunities for young people, and for that creativity to not become stigmatised and criminalised.
